Ray Parlour has backed Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse for a place in the next England squad.Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate is reportedly considering the 24-year-old for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro later this month.Ward-Prowse starred in Southamptons 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Saturday, netting the winner with a trademark free-kick and continuing his excellent run of form under Ralph Hasenhuttl.After the game, his manager said: Does he deserve an England call-up as a reward? For sure and if they need a good free-kicker they should pick him.2

Ward-Prowse only has one senior cap to his name so far, but featured prominently for the Under-21s while Southgate was in charge.And former England and Arsenal midfielder Parlour has also been mightily impressed by the Saints man.He was brilliant at the weekend, he told talkSPORT. I was at Southampton vs Spurs and it was the most one-sided game Ive ever seen.First-half, Spurs were fantastic and they shouldve been 4-0 up. I think [goalkeeper Hugo] Lloris touched the ball once.But second-half, it was a different game and Ward-Prowse was amazing. He got that free-kick to win the game and hes much better in a deeper role.2
