March 29 was supposed to be Britain’s ‘Independence Day’, but instead MPs will vote on Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit deal for the third time.Brexit is not an issue, its the inability of the politicians weve currently got to be able to deliver, Jordan told talkSPORT.We lack leaders! David Cameron should be put in stocks and have rotten tomatoes thrown at him, because hes left us in a difficult situation.Theresa May has stepped into a poisoned chalice, shes a bit like the David Moyes ofManchester United shes not a great leader but shes a very good politician.Theresa May: The David Moyes of politicians3

Now, what we have are dissenting politicians who dont have the substance to make the decisions theyre put in place to deliver.Theres nothing wrong with Brexit, its the inability to deliver through weak, lily-livered, limp-wristed politicians who have got a set of balls now because they havent got direct leadership controlling them.

“I think Simon Jordan talks so much sense regarding the political issue, and I could listen to him all day.“He would sort it out.”Warnock has previously called on May to deliver on the referendum result and secure Britain a clean exit from the EU.Speaking earlier this year, Warnock said: “I dont know why politicians dont do what the country wants, if Im honest.“They had a referendum and now we see different politicians and everyone else trying to put their foot in it Why did we have a referendum in the first bloody place?“I cant wait to get out of it, if Im honest. Tottenham news: Paul Coyte dreams of introducing Spurs as ‘Champions League winners’ and reveals Jose Mourinho prediction
I must admit, Ive thought about how Id introduce the team if they win, but just thinking about it makes my stomach turn.It would be the ultimate thing to do. I thought the greatest thing Id ever do was the finale at the old White Hart Lane. Then being asked to do to the opening of the new stadium was incredible but say we did actually win nothing would top being able to introduce Tottenham as Champions League winners. It would just be ridiculous.Paul Coyte will be in Madrid for the Champions League final where Spurs fans will hear a familiar voiceInstagram @coytey672

The build-up has been so much fun when you see the match programme with the words Champions League final it is incredible.Overall, Id say there is just real excitement. Its like when we were in with a chance of winning the title people dare not mention its name because theres actually a chance where we could do something.Im travelling to Madrid on a plane with Ledley King, Gary Mabbutt and Ossie Ardiles. When I first started in the job, talking to legends was one thing I couldnt get over these were my childhood heroes and it took a long time to get used to speaking to Pat Jennings and the like on a regular basis.I never take it for granted despite them adding me to their WhatsApp group. I still find it all quite amusing.I actually really want to watch the game with my son, Joe, because thats what its about for me I always watched Spurs with my dad and the baton gets handed over and I love that.

Unfortunately he won’t be coming with me for this one, but he was brilliant about me going. And anyway, I told him there will be other chances like when we get there next year and the year after!Seriously, though, to get what it means to Spurs fans you just have to ask them. I speak to people who are going to Madrid by any means necessary. They are flying to Barcelona and hiring a camper van. Its like a pilgrimage they just feel they have to be there. Its amazing.Lucas Moura scored the third goal – his hat-trick – against Ajax to send Spurs into the Champions League final and bring tears to millions of fansGetty Images - Getty2
Lucas Moura scored the third goal – his hat-trick – against Ajax to send Spurs into the Champions League final and bring tears to millions of fans
When that last goal went in against Ajax I just lost my s*** and went absolutely crazy. I thought Im going to cry and then I tried to calm down, telling myself that its a game of football, but the amount of people Ive spoken to since also said they were almost in tears and didnt know why either.Theres something deep rooted inside that took in the magnitude of what has just happened and I think if we win, what wed hear from the stand wouldnt be cheers, there would just be open weeping. Crazy. The Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool is live on talkSPORT at 8pm on Saturday 1 June.

Stadium omen

At one of the two test events Spurs had ahead of the opening of their new ground, Paul spoke to a very 'Special' guest...When I was at the Legends game, I got talking to Jose Mourinho, who was with Inter, in the tunnel. This was before we knocked Man City out of the Champions League. He said: “I think youll beat [City] and I think you have a great chance to win the Champions League.”I didnt quite believe him, but he was being serious, saying he saw parallels with Porto when they won it in 2004.He explained that during that 2003/04 season, they moved into a new stadium and said once fans got on board with the chairman and realised what he and the board were doing for them, that feeling of love transmitted to the players the players felt it, then he got it from the players and it was this amazing feeling. He said: “I am sure that move inspired us to win the Champions League and I think the same thing could happen to you.”Amazing, I could have hugged him.

How Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli compares to Premier League legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard at the same age

How Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli compares to Premier League legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard at the same age
Dele Alli burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old for MK Dons against Manchester United and has not looked back since. The midfielder dominated the EFL Cup game as the Dons, only founded a decade earlier, dumped the Premier League giants out.Dele Alli is only 23, but already one of the best players in the Premier League8
Dele Alli is only 23, but already one of the best players in the Premier League
Since then, Alli’s rise has been meteoric as he made both his Premier League and England debuts in 2015 under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur. As with every prodigious English talent, the comparisons have come thick and fast for Alli, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Thursday.A goalscorer blessed with wonderful technique, correlations between Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard began to be drawn. But while Alli represents a modern attacking midfielder capable of drifting between the lines and into the box, the aforementioned pair of Premier League legends were utilised in more traditional central midfield roles.Lampard and Gerrard are two of the greatest players of the Premier League era8
Lampard and Gerrard are two of the greatest players of the Premier League era
However, Gerrard and Lampard possessed the talent and diligence to cement their reputations as some of the best ever seen in the English top-flight.But is Alli on course to replicate or even surpass those legends of the game? Thanks to transfremarkt.com, we have been able to break down every season all three enjoyed up until their 23rd birthday (the same age as Alli).Scroll down to see how the talented trio compare in all club competitions.Alli’s years of regular football in the third tier have boosted his stats8
Alli’s years of regular football in the third tier have boosted his stats
As we can see, the years of League One football with MK Dons have helped build up Dele Alli from scrawny teen into Premier League superstar. As well as gaining valuable experience, the teenager was prolific from midfield and scored and created plenty of chances for the likes of Benik Afobe – who scored 10 goals in the first half of the 2014/15 season.Conversely, Gerrard and Lampard have far more modest stats as their careers began slowly, before reaching a raucous crescendo. At West Ham (and with a brief loan spell at Swansea City) Lampard was thrust into the world of senior football with a mid-table Premier League side. As a result, he played significantly more times than the younger Gerrard, who had to fight to get his way into a star-studded Liverpool team.Frank Lampard earned his stripes coming through the West Ham academy8
Frank Lampard earned his stripes coming through the West Ham academy
With the likes of England internationals Jamie Redknapp and Paul Ince in his way, the Reds fan had to wait for his chance to break into his preferred central midfield role.Indeed, Gerrard’s lack of goal and assists can be attributed to his early position. Such was his versatility and athleticism, the youngster made his bow as a right-back.After being given a torrid time by David Ginola in just his second game, Roy Evans allowed the starlet to make a name for himself in his preferred central midfield role and it is safe to say he never looked back.Given much of Alli’s early career was played in the lower leagues, it is perhaps more prevalent to focus specifically on Premier League involvement, for the purpose of a fair test to get more accurate results for comparisons.Alli’s Premier League record is still fantastic8
Alli’s Premier League record is still fantastic
As we can see, Alli is still way ahead of both Lampard and Gerrard statistically at the same age. His Premier League record for someone so young is exceptional and, provided he can remain fit, the midfielder should reach his half-century in the league by 2020.However, there are always mitigating circumstances to be considered which go beyond just stats and figures. As mentioned at the very beginning of this article, Lampard and Gerrard did not play in more advanced roles until much later in their careers. While at Chelsea, Lampard escaped accusations of nepotism from bitter Hammers fans to become one of the best goalscoring midfielders in history. And Gerrard’s versatility meant he was often deployed in more defensive roles (he made his England debut against Ukraine at the back). One interesting statistic to look at from the Premier League stats above is the former Liverpool captain’s disciplinary record.Gerrard’s competitive nature can be traced back to his days on the streets playing against older lads on his Huyton estate8
Gerrard’s competitive nature can be traced back to his days on the streets playing against older lads on his Huyton estate
So determined was Gerrard determination to lay down a marker on his opponent, the enthusiasm quickly escalated into recklessness and suspensions.Academy director Steve Heighway spoke to his father to learn where the anger came from, even sending the starlet to a sports psychologist after leaving his mark on Evertons Kevin Campbell and Gary Naysmith, Chelseas Dennis Wise and Graeme Le Saux and Aston Villas George Boateng. The midfielder also struggled from the type of injury problems Alli himself is now experiencing. Muscle strains from a rapid growth spurt saw him endure hamstring and groin strains.Alli himself was ruled out at the start of 2019 after a hamstring strain and he can often be seen wearing brightly coloured ‘Kinesio Tape’ at the top of his legs to combat muscular injuries. While Gerrard missed games through injuries in his early years, Alli has applied drastic measures like the ‘Kinesio Tape’ (circled)8
While Gerrard missed games through injuries in his early years, Alli has applied drastic measures like the ‘Kinesio Tape’ (circled)
Suspensions and injuries blighted Gerrard’s early career, but the same cannot be said for Alli. Although he has unfairly gained a reputation for being a hot-head, he has never seen red in the Premier League.Like Lampard, the midfielder prefers to focus on his own game, which is built off of drifting into the opposition box. However, Alli is naturally more athletic than Lampard and his speed and agility have seen him grab more goals than the midfielder at this stage.Ultimately, what will define Alli and his legacy will be his trophy collection. At present, the midfielder has just the promotion with MK Dons in 2015 to celebrate after falling short in the league and Champions League with Spurs.Conversely, Lampard and Gerrard both achieved tremendous amounts in the game at club level. Both men have lifted the Champions League trophy against the odds, with FA Cup and League Cup victories as well.Steven Gerrard led Liverpool to Champions League glory in 20058
Steven Gerrard led Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2005
To conclude, Gerrard and Lampard displayed incredible tenacity and determination to get to the very top of the sport.Although they may not have had the natural talent of Alli, both men were serial winners and their hard work and dedication pushed them to become two of the finest midfielders in the world. But, as the numbers suggest, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is on course to eclipse them. That is, provided a lucrative offer from abroad does not lure him away from the English top-flight.

Premier League stars to boycott social media for 24 hours in protest at online racism with the likes of Sterling, Salah and Smalling backing campaign
Leading Premier League players have backed plans for a 24-hour social media boycott in protest at an escalation of incidents of racial abuse online. The campaign, which has been launched by the Professional Footballers’ Association, will urge players to stay off social media from 9am on Friday after posting the hashtag #Enough. The likes of Raheem Sterling have been subject to racist abuse multiple times this season at home and abroad3

The PFA say it is intended as a show of solidarity with players who have been targeted, as well as a demand to social media organisations and the game’s authorities that more needs to be done.Simone Pound, Head of Equalities at the PFA, said: “Football has the power to do so much good in the world. We must always try to use the sport’s popularity and influence to make positive change.“Over the last few months we have seen a rise in appalling instances of racist abuse at grounds around the world, and on social media. We cannot stand by while too little is done to address this unacceptable behaviour.“The PFA has always been at the forefront of tackling racism and we are reaffirming our commitment to all of our members. We will do all we can to put an end to the abuse players face on the pitch and online.” Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has given his strong backing to the campaign after he was abused on Twitter after his side’s Champions League defeat in Barcelona this week.Smalling joins a lengthening list of players, also including Mohamed Salah, Danny Welbeck, Raheem Sterling, Michy Batshuayi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Moussa Sissoko, who have received abuse over the same platform in recent years.Smalling said: “Throughout my career I have developed a thick skin against verbal abuse, justifying it as just ‘part of the game’ but the time has come for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to consider regulating their channels, taking responsibility for protecting the mental health of users regardless of age, race, sex or income.Smalling and Aubameyang will be taking part tooGetty3

“I understand that I am in an extremely privileged position and I am deeply thankful for that but, at the end of the day, we are all human.“As a patron of a youth education charity it is my duty to use my platform as a voice for all, regardless of background. We have to take a greater stand against discrimination of all kinds.”Concern is mounting over racism in football after a spate of attacks on players both on social media and in and around stadiums.England’s black players were subjected to repeated chants during their Euro 2020 qualifier in Montenegro last month, while Tottenham defender Danny Rose revealed recently he has ‘had enough’ and ‘can’t wait’ to quit the game.Danny Rose has said he is sick of racism in football3
Danny Rose has said he is sick of racism in football
Rose said: “When I said that I can’t wait to see the back of football, it is because of the racism that I, and many other players, have been subjected to our entire careers.“Football has a problem with racism.“I don’t want any future players to go through what I’ve been through in my career.“Collectively, we are simply not willing to stand by while too little is done by football authorities and social media companies to protect players from this disgusting abuse.”
