Leeds news: Patrick Bamford nets hat-trick for Under-23s on first start since September
Leeds United star Patrick Bamford marked his return from injury in style with a hat-trick for their Under-23s.The striker suffered knee ligament damage in September shortly after signing for Leeds during the summer. However, he looked sharp and full of confidence as he eased his way back into competitive football. The 25-year-old grabbed his first with a lovely dinked finish over Burnley keeper Tom Heaton. He doubled his tally by bundling home a scrappy goal and then flicked the ball up inside the box and slammed it past Heaton to complete his hat-trick.Bamford will now try and force his way into the Leeds starting XI1

Bamford completed the full 90 minutes of the 6-3 victory and came through unscathed. His bright return will give Leeds manager Marco Bielsa a selection headache.Kemar Roofe has been first-choice for the Whites all season, even before Bamford’s injury, and his ten league goals this season make him a difficult man to drop. Leeds are currently second in the Championship as they bid to end their 15-year wait for Premier League football. The club paid 7million to sign Bamford from Middlesbrough in August. The former Chelsea academy star was named the Championship Player of the Year during a loan spell with Boro in the 2014/15 season.
