David Brooks has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract with Bournemouth, the Premier League club have confirmed.Brooks, the Wales midfielder, has impressed throughout his debut season with the Cherries having only joined from Sheffield United last summer for a reported 11.5million.

He made 33 appearances for Chris Wilder’s side after debuting in August 2016, earning a well-deserved move to Bournemouth last July.Born in Warrington, Brooks represented England at Under-20 level and was named the best player at the 2017 Toulon Tournament. However, he later switched his international allegiance to Wales – his mother is from Llangollen – and was handed his senior debut later that year.The 21-year-old has since won eight further caps for Ryan Giggs’ side, though he remains without a goal to his name.
